Support and Checking Tools
For each sheet specific support and checking tools have been created to compile the fields: this deals with the vocabulary and lists of values, which can be ‘closed’ or ‘open’. In the first case, the lists of terminology are integral parts of the compilation rules for the sheet and can be modified or implemented only by advancing to an additional version. In the case of the ‘open’ lists, the lists of terminology can be modified or increased independently of the version of regulations in which they are used, by means of activity coordinated by the ICCD. With regards to the vocabulary content, in general they are strictly tied to the type of heritage and therefore are processed in relation to the different fields of discipline or to single specific catalogue sheets.
These tools are made up of lists of values and terms, sometimes equipped with a definition and a reference bibliography. They are useful in the compilation of the catalogue sheets both to facilitate compilation and to check the data inputting according to homogenous and shared criteria.
