Cataloguing Standards
The ICCD coordinates research to define cataloguing standards for the different types of cultural heritage for which the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities is legally responsible: archaeological, architectural-landscape, art-history and ethno-anthropological. The cataloguing standards consist of norms, terminology resources and sets of rules and guidelines for the development of knowledge and documentation on properties, ensuring that data is recorded under uniform, nationally-standardised criteria.
The adherence to norms and recommended procedures ultimately permits full exchange of catalogue information among the different agencies that operate in the cultural heritage sector.
